I’ve been following these stories with sadness, horror, disgust – many emotions. A new emotion joins, though, as it becomes a little more personal as the attacks spread to an embassy I’ve actually been in.

New Delhi: The US embassy in New Delhi was shut on Friday and employees were asked to stay on the compound, following risk of protests over an anti-Islam film.

Officials feared “untoward incident” near the highly-guarded premises in the diplomatic quarter of the capital.

The embassy school was also shut and US citizens in India have been asked to exercise caution.
