An American civil engineer made some predictions in 1900 about what the world would be like in 2000. John Elfreth Watkins wrote these in Ladies Home Journal, and it’s amazing what he got right. Read this article to see more details about these, but here in brief are ten he got pretty much right.
1. Digital photography
2. Americans get taller
3. Mobile phones
4. Preprepared meals
5. Slowing population growth
6. Hothouse vegetables
7. Television
8. Tanks
9. Bigger fruit
10. High speed trains

But he missed some too.
1. No more use of the letters C, X or Q
2. Everybody walks 10 miles a day
3. No cars in big cities
4. No mosquitos or flies
