Went to the symphony last night and enjoyed a nice program. Kerry really enjoyed the pianist who performed Brahm’s Piano Concerto – she said his hands were enormous and that let him play with power without showing off. Also heard Beethoven’s 4th Symphony – a nice, short symphony. But the fun part was the opening – Rossini’s William Tell Overture. Everybody knows the fourth part – the Lone Ranger theme – and you’ve heard the third part in a cartoon somewhere sometime. But the opening featuring the cellos was new and beautiful, and the second part with thundering bass drum was fun too. Enjoy!

Of course, a symphony orchestra doesn’t necessarily compare to Spike Jones.
